    1. Day 1 Arrival at Windhoek

Flight in the evening-day, you arrive on the morning of day 2.

    2. Day 2 Windhoek

Arrival in Windhoek. The tour is ready by bus and we drive to Windhoek centre, where we check in in the cosy B & B. In the afternoon we will see Windhoek. The centre is a mix of German colonial buildings and modern paintings painted in fresh pastel tones. Striking is the Evangelical Lutheran Christ Church in Art Nouveau style. In addition, the Alte Feste and the station are also worth a visit.

    3. Day 3-4 Sossusvlei

Along the Atlantic coast lies an indescribably beautiful piece of nature: Sossusvlei, the most famous spot in the Namib Naukluft Park. Clamped between two deserts, the Namib in the west and the Kalahari in the east, the dry southern region offers breathtaking landscapes. Sossusvlei is definitely a highlight of your visit to Namibia, you have to get up early to get the most beautiful photos! In the area live the Hartmann zebra, kudu, gemsbok, klipspringer, diver, Capricorn, leopard, baboon, jackal, fox, wild cat, caracal and the earthwolf. We climb Dune 45, walk to Deadvlei and through Sesriem Canyon.

    4. Day 5-6 Swakopmund

The coastal town of Swakopmund is Namibia’s second largest city. It is an old European-oriented city, which dates back to German colonial times. There are still many German influences in the city, many people speak German and street names are sometimes German. The city itself has wide boulevards with palm trees and parks for the inhabitants. Swakopmund has many restaurants and bars, supermarkets and nice shops. A 4×4 desert excursion is included, teaching you more about the Namib Naukluft desert region (fauna and flora) under the guidance of an expert guide. There is a possibility to make a scenic flight over the Namib or Skeleton Coast ( option ). Just outside Swakopmund, a number of dunes are reserved for recreational purposes. Here you can go sand-boarding or quad biking ( options ). In addition, boat excursions can be booked on the ocean to spot dolphins and robbery ( options ).

    5. Day 7 Damaraland

Today we drive through the rugged interior, hopefully, a glimpse of desert elephants. We drive along the Brandberg, with a short visit to Himba’s and Herrero’s and a visit to the Twyfelfontein rocks. Twijfelfontein houses one of the world’s most interesting collections of rock drawings and engravings. About 2500 engravings and some drawings have been carved and painted by the nomadic San and Khoikhoi (forest men) since 6000 years (Stone Age). Since 1952 it is a national monument and since 2007 it is on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

    6. Day 8-9-10 Etosha National Park

Etosha National Park, also known as ’Great White Place’, is Africa’s largest natural park and was founded in 1907. The park is located in northern Namibia and is almost as big as the Netherlands. A large part consists of a huge salt surface. You can not only see large herds of elephants and (white and black) rhinos but also jungles, giraffes, oryx, gems, zebras, impala’s, ostriches, hyenas, lions, leopards, cheetahs and many types of birds. On the day of arrival an additional afternoon game drive can be made ( option ). Day 9 and 10 are also reserved for game drives, day 9 with an open 4×4 jeep, day 10 by bus. The first 2 nights we spend on the south side (just outside the park) and the last night on the east side (in a private game reserve)

    7. Day 11 Rundu

We stop in Rundu to keep the distance a bit limited today and have a rest, walk, laze, … The lodge is near Kavango River, the other side is Angola! Perhaps we still hunt in the river hippos. You may also have a sundowner boat cruise over the river in the late afternoon ( option ).

    8. Day 12-13 Caprivi

Today we drive through Caprivi Game Park (Bwabwata National Park) into the narrow Caprivi Strip, where Angola and Botswana Namibia ”enclose”. Stay in rooms with views over Kwando River. We may see elephants stumble from the terrace, but at least many special birds! Includes a game drive in open jeep to Bwabwata Game Reserve. There is also a boat cruise for an evening river cruise ( option ).

    9. Day 14-15 Kasane-HouseBoat Safari

In the afternoon we check in on a luxurious houseboat. We are going to cruise over Chobe River for 2 days, wherein the dry season the elephants are drinking massively by the river! Really a once-in-a-lifetime experience! From the decks, you can watch big herds of elephants and buffalo, antelopes, crocodiles and hippos. Game cruises are done several times a day with smaller boats that can come close to the big game. At sunset, the boat is on, you can enjoy the African sunset with a drink and snacks, and a delicious 3-course dinner will be served soon. After a good night’s rest, perhaps accompanied by lion’s greasy, we are early for light breakfast and a game cruise. Around 11 o’clock, an extensive brunch is served, After which the captain with the big boat invades the park (while you may see the landscapes of your cabin in a little siesta from your cabin during a little siesta …). In the afternoon, the little boats can be taken to visit an authentic village with one of the staff members, another river cruise or go fishing for the infamous Tiger Fish. Activities, meals and beverages are included.

    10. Day 16-17-18 Kasane

In the morning, the Houseboat returns to the starting point and we have to go through the stamp mill, after which we check out at the jetty. We can go shopping in the village or take a walk, but keep calm today. If desired and possible, we will arrange another game drive in Chobe NP (option). You can play a round of golf at the 18 hole course, clubs, balls and caddy in Kasane. Beware of crocodiles in the water, do not hesitate to ensure that there is no warthog on the intended green, and when it comes to Twilight, the elephants like to graze here … you have been warned. We go on a 4×4 game drive to Chobe NP to discover the park from land. We take a day trip to the Victoria Falls, on the Zimbabwe side. Visa and entrance Vic Falls must be settled by yourself (US $ 60 pp). The falls will contain a lot of water in May and little in September. They are the widest waterfalls of Africa, they form a 1708m wide waterline and 100m high and have a maximum drop height of 128m. At least 500 million litres of water per minute can fall over the rocky wall (in the wet season). In the dry season, however, you can better see the beauty of the falls.

    11. Day 19-20 Makgadikgadi

We drive to Gweta, hopefully, we’ll see migrating zebras and elephants on the way. We sleep and eat the first night in a simple lodge. The next morning, an additional excursion to beautiful baobab trees (via a cattle post) can be booked, if available ( option ). We leave for 4×4 after the afternoon to the salt pans. On the way we may see meerkats (sticky tails), zebras, jackals, antelopes, etc. but on saltpans, themselves is nothing at all! We enjoy the breathtaking sunset and spend the night after a cosy firewood dinner on the saltpans in a kind of mattress-under-bedding under the (falling) starry sky! Basic, but an experience to never forget …

    12. Day 21-22-23 Maun

After the simple breakfast, we drive back to the lodge, where we get the stuff and after some extra breakfast, we go to Maun, a short distance away. We can see this tourist town, there is some tourist pressure. This is mainly due to the small airport, which is among the busiest in the world! Reason: From here, most flights leave for Okavango Delta.

Day 22 and 23 there is the opportunity to:

      • Make a flight to the Delta, count on prices from € 1000 pp for 2 nights (and book a year ahead!)
      • A moped tour in southern Okavango (8.00-17.00)
      • A boat trip of Okavango Chief’s Island (7.00-18.00, min. 3 persons, incl breakfast, lunch, park fees)
      • And/or a helicopter flight (3 helicopters 45 minutes US $ 655, aeroplane flights starting at € 120 pp)
      • And/or a 4×4 game drive to Moremi NP (minimum 3 people, including breakfast, lunch, park fees)
      • To follow a workshop of mandrels
      • A sunset boat cruise on Thamalakane river
    13. Day 24 San Bushmen

We leave for Ghanzi where we spend the night in a rustic (read: simple) lodge, a community project run by the local San population. The San Bushmen is the native population of southern Africa. The nomadic hunters and collectors nowadays are heavy. The Kalahari is one of the few places San can still live in a somewhat authentic way. We have the time to experience how close these people are still in nature, with music, dance, crafts, track searches, hunting examples, etc … a great back to basic experience.

    14. Day 25 N/a’ankusê

N / A’an Ku says means in the language of the san: the place that protects god A beautiful name for a paradise of nature, 42 kilometres outside Windhoek, where the N / A’an Ku Foundation has since 2007 established a six-room lodge and eight-holiday homes on a 10,000-acre plot of land. A sand road leads you to the entrance where you drive between the zebras, giraffes, warthogs and gemsboks to the lodge. Here, the wild nature of Namibia and a very modern lodge meet each other. A swimming pool is a boundary between the round main building and the six separate rooms each with a private terrace that overlooks the reserve. A wonderful place to close your trip.

    15. Day 26-27 Flight Home

Wynand brings you to the airport in the early afternoon, with a direct night flight you are.
