On this adventurous tour through the north of Namibia, you will become acquainted with the beautiful nature and culture of Namibia. The wide variety of landscapes fascinates every day, the contrast between the colonial past and the traditional population is impressive and the amount of (sometimes rare) wildlife in Etosha National Park is impressive. This trip is a dream for photographers, but also fun for families with children! You can go quad biking through the dunes, sandboarding, river rafting and take a dolphin and whale or boat ride. But you can also visit Himba and San villages and go on their own or accompanied on a game drive.
The route is an example, all our car trips are tailor-made trips, entirely tailored to your wishes.

Information about the accommodations

You stay at special and small-scale campsites and accommodations at beautiful locations, almost always with swimming pool & air conditioning.

We pay attention to good bathroom facilities at the campsites, sometimes these are even for private use. You can also choose to camp in the parks a little more simply but especially.
At a lodge you almost always have your own bathroom and toilet .

Accommodations and campsites have been carefully selected based on location, atmosphere, service and hygiene. A nice view, a more spacious room, a good bed and an extensive breakfast are things that we pay extra attention to, so that you can enjoy more from each place.

Day 1
Flight

Night flight from, or other airport in consultation. You arrive on day 2.

Day 2
Windhoek

Windhoek is the capital of Namibia and is located in the center of the country. With 230,000 inhabitants, it is even smaller than cities such as Enschede and Apeldoorn and the city is easy to explore on foot. The center is a mixture of German colonial buildings and modern buildings painted in fresh pastel shades. The Evangelical Lutheran Christ Church in Art Nouveau style is striking. In addition, the alte feste (old fort) and the station are also worth a visit. The station was designed by a Dutch architect and you can see many things from the NS stations that can still be found everywhere in the Netherlands.

Day 3
Namib Naukluft Park – Sossusvlei

You spend the night at a simple place to stay according to the old “guest farm” tradition. The owner sometimes has cheetahs (which are normally conducted at 5 p.m.). The Quivertree Forest (Kokerboomwoud) and Giant’s Playground are a photogenic place late in the afternoon and early in the morning. The large black basalt blocks of Giant’s Playground form strange formations and are 160 to 180 million years old. Dinner is included.

Day 4
Namib Naukluft Park – Sossusvlei

You drive through the beautiful landscape of the Karas Mountains to the southwest to a small-scale accommodation in the Gondwana Canyon Park, near the entrance to Fish River Canyon. You can walk, ride a horse and fly over the Fish River Canyon. From the lodge it is approximately 20 km to the most famous viewpoint of Fish River Canyon, one of the largest canyons in the world.

Day 5
Swakopmund

Driving through the park you can encounter gemsbok or other antelope species. Klipdassies inhabit the steep walls of the canyon.

Day 6
Swakopmund

A relatively short drive to Aus, north of Fish River Canyon, to the atmospheric and comfortable Aus Klein Vista, with excellent a la carte restaurant. The Lodge is known for a population of wild horses, which, depending on the rain and associated grass growth, comprises up to 150 animals in a season.

Day 7
Swakopmund

You can go for a lovely walk from the Lodge or visit the farm. From Aus you can also drive to the coastal town of Lüderitz and the photogenic open-air museum Kolmanskop, a ghost village that arose when the diamond seekers flocked to the even more diamond-rich south.

Day 8
Damaraland

From your spacious chalet with beautiful African-looking decors, you have a wonderful view of the surrounding mountains. But of course you mainly come here for Sossusvlei, the famous dune landscape in Namib Naukuft Park. Even in the spectacular, yellow, brown and sometimes red dune landscape with the beautiful winding shadows, the best time to photograph is the early morning and at sunset.

Day 9
Damaraland

Along the way there are some famous stopping places including the Sesriem Canyon, Elim and Dune 45, where you can climb dunes or take a walk.
